Lakhs of aspirants are waiting anxiously for the final update on revised exam date and application process of NEET 2022, even as they are concerned about their safety and well being during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Though the situation may remain a conundrum, students must not let it come in the way of their life goal of bagging a seat in a prestigious medical college in India. Odds can be turned into favour, if one invests time in learning concepts, revisions, test taking and remediation.
As the saying goes, “The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle”. Extending the logic, the more you stay away from practice, the more difficult it will be to crack NEET.
Let me share with you how you can invest your time to score in the best possible manner, and to make your dream come true. Success mantra for NEET 2022 is a clear strategy.
It should include formulation of a good study plan that incorporates exam pattern, syllabus, mock tests, and practice.
Here are a few important NEET 2022 tips for aspirants:
1. Prioritise topics for revision
Though the entire syllabus is important, it is a wise strategy to pay special attention to those topics that carry higher weightage. For smart preparation:
Go by the analysis of the last 10 years’ questions, align your syllabus on the basis of high-to-low relevance, and difficult-to-easy. In this way, you will cover those chapters that are likely to give you high scores.
Give more time to difficult topics and less time to easy ones.
Ensure you have included time for revision in the plan and follow it rigorously.
2. Prepare a daily action plan
NCERT textbooks are the mantra for success, as up to 90% of the questions asked in NEET come from them. Practice all NCERT questions. To make the best use of NCERT materials:
Revise the concepts frequently and thoroughly.
Highlight/write down important points, formulas, examples, and excerpts. This will be useful for you during the ‘power revision’ before the final exam.
Practice Multiple Choice Questions for the topics covered.
Spot your errors and left-out questions, and learn, and revise those concepts to make sure that you master them.
3. Take online mock tests
Although NEET has to happen in the pen-paper mode, you cannot avoid online practice. Online test platforms give you real-time reports and analytics for you to know your strengths and weaknesses.
4. Avoid distractions
Convert your mobile and other electronic gadgets into educational tools. Remove all other social media apps from your gadgets till your final exams are over.
This will help you stay focused during online academic activities and save a lot of time from various non-academic activities.
5. Enhance your speed and accuracy
Your year-long preparation constitutes only 50% of the journey. The exam accounts for the rest. Remember NEET is all about speed and accuracy.Error analysis and timely action on weak areas will certainly pave the way for success
6. Stay safe and healthy
Stay healthy and deliver your best in NEET. Falling sick can disrupt the momentum of your year-long preparations.
Keep a check on your screen time. Taking short breaks of 15 minutes after every 2 hours of study will be helpful.
Eat healthy and try to take several small meals. It will keep your brain energised.
Take at-least 6 hours of sleep every day and keep yourself fresh.
